Question:
Who can become a WOCC member?

If you attend Christ Episcopal Church and are a woman who's 18 years or older, YOU ARE ALREADY A MEMBER, SO COME AND JOIN US!

Meetings and Monthly Volunteering Opportunities

A monthly meeting is held the first Monday of each month with the exception of our summer break of July and August,. In December, there is no formal meeting, but we do host our annual Christmas dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Monthly Meetings on first Monday of every month; 1:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. for dinner meetings

  • Springfield Hospital Visit on third Thursday of every month, meet at 9:15 a.m.

Inreach

The WOCC sponsors an annual outing for family and friends to Toby’s Dinner Theatre – date and play is announced each year.   It is always a wonderful evening of culture, friendship and good food.

The annual flea market is held in September to raise monies for the church. The flea market has been running for over 25 years and is our biggest money making event to be used for the “church’s wish list” as suggested by the rector.

“Survivor’s Day” is recognized by the WOCC in many different ways – once we danced, distributed bookmarks, etc.

“Hats on for Mothers” is sponsored by the WOCC for Mother’s Day.

Outreach

Springfield Hospital – located in Sykesville, MD – members of WOCC go to Springfield monthly to socialize and play games with the residents.  We invite the residents to Christ Church every June for a picnic.  Also, at the Christmas dinner we collect wrapped gifts for the residents of Springfield.
