Christ Church will host a kickoff event this Wednesday, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Everyone is highly encouraged to join us in New Brick as we celebrate our first Paumier Scholars!
In conjunction with the Howard County Public School System, the Applerouth Tutoring Agency, and the Cy Paumier family, Christ Church will be offering a free Summer Camp for 40 students at Oakland Mills High School, made possible by a generous donation from Cy's family. The Paumier Scholars Program is the start of an important and innovative partnership to help provide educational opportunities to more students in our community.
Today's Program:
4:30-5:15 pm: Refreshments in the Great Hall (lower level) of New Brick
5:15 pm: Welcome and Introductions
by the Rev. Emmanuel Ato Mercer, Rector, Christ Episcopal Church, Columbia MD
5:20 pm: Remarks from Community Leaders, including:
Calvin Ball, Howard County Executive
Opel Jones, Howard County Council Chair
Dr. Michael J. Martirano, HCPSS Superintendent
Dr. Jeffrey Fink, Principal Oakland Mills High School
Talisha Overby, Applerouth Tutoring
5:50 pm: Closing & Refreshments
