Celebrate Juneteenth at a special concert, Breaking the Chains, this Friday, June 19. Held in the New Brick Sanctuary of Christ Episcopal Church in Columbia at 7 p.m., this musical performance will feature the Caritas Vocal Ensemble performing powerful works by Black composers centered on themes of justice, freedom, and the ongoing fight for equality. The ensemble will be accompanied on piano by our talented Music Director, Larissa Sanders, for an unforgettable evening of reflection, remembrance, and community.
Admission is free, though a suggested donation of $20 is deeply appreciated, as proceeds from this concert will benefit the Music Ministry of Christ Church and the Howard County Center for African American Culture. If you can't make it to the performance but wish to donate, you can do so at cecevents.org/JuneteenthDonation.
All ages are welcome, and we hope you will tell your family, friends, and neighbors and join us for the performance and a light, welcoming reception.
