CSN: Divine Mothering - Saturday, May 9
Journey with us as we discover the ways we view God as a divine mother and explore how we celebrate those who have played a nurturing role in our lives. At May's Center for Spiritual Nourishment, we celebrate the return of the community bike ride and the introduction of our first-ever Sound Bath experience! Our inspirational film options are split into two sessions, so that you can mix and match your choices throughout the morning. The 2nd Saturday Center for Spiritual Nour

With Palm Sunday, our Holy Week Journey Begins
The holiest of weeks begins with Palm Sunday, also called Passion Sunday. Here, the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem is recalled, and yet, the liturgy quickly shifts to the events of the week that lead Jesus to his arrest, trial, and death on the cross. The congregation gathers in Old Brick, processes to New Brick with blessed palm leaves, and joins in the reading of the Gospel narrative in parts. The liturgy ends in quietness, a stark contrast to the joy of the proce

Palm Sunday - The Journey to the Cross Starts Here

Grab a palm branch and join us at Christ Church as we start the journey toward Easter. We have three services on Palm Sunday morning: 8:00 a.m. worship takes place entirely in Old Brick. 9:00 a.m. begins in the Great Hall, then process up the Narthex staircase into the New Brick sanctuary, which will include a speci

Letting Go to Make Room at CSN - This Saturday, March 14
It’s almost the weekend! And, therefore, almost time for CSN. We look forward to seeing many of you at Christ Episcopal this Saturday morning. 8:30 AM is the start of breakfast if you’d like to come early for food and friendship. 9 AM is our opening with many wonderful sessions to choose from. We wrap up between 11:30 and noon. As we walk our Lenten journey, we rest in that sometimes uncomfortable in-between place. We journey through the wilderness, waiting on the Holy

Make a Healthier You Happen - Saturdays at 10:00 in New Brick
Most of us would like to be "healthier" in many ways, but we also know how difficult it can be to begin the journey, so Christ Church is making it a little easier. Jane Adams, Christ Church parishioner and certified instructor, leads a basic exercise class every Saturday morning, a way to comfortably and safely get your body accustomed to a path of fitness and good health. She will provide resistance bands and all other accessories needed for this hour-long session; all you n

Today's Lenten Meditation: Morning Prayer
Lord, help me to live This day, quietly, easily, To lean upon Thy great Strength, trustfully Restfully To wait for the Unfolding of Thy will, patiently, Serenely. To meet others Peacefully, joyously. To face tomorrow, Confidently, Courageously. ~ St. Francis of Assisi #lent #Lent2026 #stfrancis #StFrancisOfAssisi #episcomd #hocomd #columbiamaryland #howardcountymd #episcopal #episcopalian #episcopalchurch

Today's Lenten Meditation: Decision-Making - Something to Ponder
Have you seriously thought and reflected on the fact that our daily existence depends upon the nature of our decision-making? Invariably, we make decisions from the rising of the sun to its setting. Decision-making requires constant action, and more often than not, it involves others. Decision-making becomes the ever-evolving hallmarks of our daily lives. Being human, we ask these questions: “Did I make the right decision?” or “Did I make the wrong decision?” The long and sh

Today's Lenten Meditation: Reaching Out to Others in Love
Reaching Out to Others in Love When our lofty words of love have been emptied of their meaning, When our borders and computer screens have erected impenetrable walls, When our minds are so quick to conflate "other" with "enemy," How will we find our common humanity? It's never too late to make an earnest and tender start. May we remove from our pockets the stones we intended to throw And cement them together to build a home that welcomes all. May we repent of our indifference

Red, Red, Everywhere!
Last Sunday, it was so nice to see many people wearing RED - if only because it's been so bleak with all the snow we've had recently! Of course, the real reason we were decked out in the bright color was to bring awareness to Heart Health Month. It's a tradition at Christ Church started by the WOCC years ago, but in 2026, all sorts of wonderful people took part - thanks to everyone who did! This is an important awareness event, as heart disease remains a leading killer in th

We Shall Overcome.
This past Sunday, in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Christ Church's 10:30 worship concluded with the song "We Shall Overcome" - one that the Library of Congress tells us has history and connection to two separate songs from over a hundred years ago - the lyrics from “I’ll Overcome Some Day” written by the Reverend Charles Tindley in 1903, and the melody from a traditional African American gospel song called “I’ll be All Right.” It's astonishing that this song
