Prayer

Lord, may your Church, serving as your Body in this world, be of one heart and soul.  May your Grace touch our spirits and enable us to live in unity. May we bring your Light into our journeys illuminating our paths in the way of Truth and Life.

Joyfully, we pray in the power of the Resurrection.

We are a renewed, forgiven people, granted so much by our Savior. Yet, at times doubt overtakes us, as Thomas experienced in his faith. Thomas later proved to be a devoted disciple and founded the Church in India. Christ’s presence will also strengthen us. Our Lord entrusts us with the future of His Church, such an awesome responsibility. May we remember the Church in Jerusalem and Palestine as the living remnant of the original Christian community.  We ask for insight in ways to support the persecuted church.  Lord, guide us in your love and in the quest for justice and peace in the Holy Land.

Joyfully, we pray in the power of the Resurrection.

We are so privileged to be able to worship in freedom and to spread the Good News of Christ without repercussions. May we be ever grateful for the love and sacrificial faith of many in the worldwide church. May our hearts also be on fire in our love of Jesus.  We welcome those individuals whom God has brought to worship with us today. We also ask your prayers for members of the Anglican Communion throughout the world, especially in Japan.  In our own Diocese of Maryland, we ask the Lord’s blessing for St. Margaret’s, Coventry; St. Matthias’, Baltimore; St. Thomas’, Homestead and St. Michael and All Angels, Baltimore. We also pray for our Bishops, Eugene and Joe, that they may exercise wisdom in their leadership. We give thanks for our clergy at Christ Church, Columbia, Richard and Lura.  We appreciate their care and dedication to our congregation. May we all extend Christ’s love to our community, our families and to all whom we encounter in our daily life and work.

Joyfully, we pray in the power of the Resurrection.

We pray for all those who are ill, that they will be restored to health and wholeness. We also pray for those in health professions and for family members who serve as caregivers, that they may exercise patience and compassion. May God grant us His mercy and love in our times of pain, loneliness and despair.

Joyfully, we pray in the power of the Resurrection.

Lord, we remember our brothers and sisters in Christ who have entered your Heavenly Kingdom. Please comfort those who grieve. Help us to know that your love and care is eternal.

Joyfully, we pray in the power of the Resurrection.

Let us join together to recognize those in our congregation celebrating birthdays, baptismal anniversaries and wedding anniversaries.  May our gratitude for our many blessings shine brightly through our lives.

Joyfully, we pray in the power of the Resurrection.

May we be agents of God’s peace and realize our calling to be sanctuaries of the Holy Spirit. Our hearts are so full of Christ’s gifts. Alleluia! Amen.
