Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of adherents as a sign of mourning and repentance to God. The ashes used are typically gathered after the palms from the previous year’s Palm Sunday are burned.

Here is the 2012 Ash Wednesday service schedule.

• 7:00 AM Ash Wednesday Liturgy and Imposition of Ashes (30 minutes)
• 12:00 PM Ash Wednesday Liturgy, Holy Eucharist and Imposition of Ashes
• 7:30 PM Ash Wednesday Liturgy, Holy Eucharist and Imposition of Ashes

Please bring in your PALMS (from last Palm Sunday) so they may be burned and used for our Ash Wednesday
Services.
