Middle School

Our Middle School Youth Program Gives Young People a Place to Belong.

Middle School Youth

Middle Schoolers are creative and talented.

Middle Schoolers are savvy. They know exactly when they are needed. And they know precisely when their needs are being met. As the parent of a savvy  Middle Schooler, you know how exciting – and often stormy – the Middle School years are.

The Middle School Youth Program at Christ Episcopal Church gives young people a place to belong and an opportunity to grow through:

  • Scripture
  • Self-expression
  • Service

We Study Scripture to Help Understand Our Own Challenges.

Every week in Middle School Sunday School, we follow the life and works of Jesus Christ to leanr more about our own challenges. Students are encouraged to ask and asnwer questions about the Old and New testaments and apply the teachings of the Bible to their own spiritual and practical lives. lively and open-ended discussions help us study the Bible to examine ourselves as Christians.

Our Self-Expression Makes Important Contributions to the Life of the Church.

Middle School Youth Group (MSYG) members make impotant contributions to the life of the church through drama, art, and music. Students are encouraged to interpret their own responses to the life of Jesus Christ through the arts. Middle School students bring joy and enthusiasm to their productions and enliven the Word for all parishioners.

Our projects include:

  • Creating a mural in the Parish Hall
  • Setting the Stations of the Cross to contemporary music
  • Production of a play called “Chat Room Christianity”
  • Development of a musical take-off called “One Episcopalian”

Through Service Projects, We Help Our Local and Global Communities.
