Spiritual Life Update: June 2010

Home Bible Conversations

The final conversation of the 2009-2010 ministry year takes place on June 7 from 7:30-9:00 at the home of D. Campagna.  A typical Home Bible Conversation evening starts with delicious refreshments and fellowship, proceeds to a reading of the lessons for the forthcoming Sunday, and ends with informal conversation about the readings and other topics of general interest.  These are warm, friendly, and informative evenings.

Pizza and Prayers

New Brick is the site of the second “Pizza and Prayers” evening on Wednesday, June 16.  We will gather from 7:30 until about 8:30 with a light meal of pizza followed by an Evening Prayer service.  If you are unable to attend but would like those present to offer prayers for you or for a loved one, you may use the Prayer Request box on the Information Table in the Narthex or request the prayers through the Parish office or by phone.  You may also speak with D. Campagna or C. Read if you wish to make a request or if you have questions about the evening.  All are most welcome to attend the service.

Spiritual Life Retreat

On the morning of Saturday, June 5, the Spiritual Life Commission will hold a half-day retreat to develop a theme for the new (2010-2011) ministry year and to begin planning programs for the new year.  Past programs sponsored by the Commission include Parish Retreats at the Beach, Halloween potlucks and bonfires, Advent and Lenten Quiet Days, and Wednesday Evenings in Lent.  If you have an interest in helping us to decide on a theme and choose programs for the upcoming ministry year, please join us from 8:30 a.m. until about noon on June 5.  A light breakfast and other refreshments will be served.  Please see D. Campagna or C. Read if you have any questions.
