Welcome to Christ Episcopal Church in Columbia, Maryland.
We are an historic church, dating back to the early eighteenth century. We maintain a vivid sense of our heritage by preserving "Old Brick" (ca. 1809, pictured in the foreground below) on our grounds at 6800 Oakland Mills Rd. We also enjoy a vital life of faith in the present day with the guidance of our clergy, vestry, and staff. At Christ Church, our Mission is "to worship and glorify God, to proclaim the Gospel of Christ, and to empower the corporate and individual ministries of the congregation in the church and in the world." We live out this Mission first and foremost through our worship. Christian education for all ages informs our worship. We also engage in outreach to share God's love in the wider community, and we gain strength and support from each other through fellowship opportunities. All activities at Christ Church are supported through the stewardship of our parishioners. As a member of the Diocese of Maryland, we at Christ Church have access to many resources beyond our own. The Baltimore area, in particular, offers a wide range of programs and services within a half-hour's drive from Columbia. On a still broader level, the activities of The Episcopal Church in America are also of interest to our members.
